Website redesign Step 1

I've contracted someone to make me a new color palate for the website, this will be the start of the WHOLE website revamp I still like the old design, and it's aged well, but I want something a bit more modern and I want an excuse to learn new web coding technologies and concepts. Yeah, I'm a MAJOR geek.

I've tried to use the latest versions of software to run the website, but apparently it just won't work. On a happier note, the old server that USED to host this site has been decommissioned and the hard drive (on it's last legs) was sent for wiping.
All in all, I'm happy with the move of the website. I'm looking forward to finding new ways to do website infrastructure and programming.
It'd be nice to get a new theme too, but I'm no Spring Chiken.
Just a bad year

The past year has been hard on everyone, especially those who have been impacted by Covid-19. My family has also had its share of bad news. On Sept. 11, 2020 my sister called me to inform me that my dad had passed away. On March 4, 2021, my mom passed away after several strokes and a couple heart attacks. My siblings, my aunt, and I were there at her bedside when she passed.
Sometimes life just sucks, but being able to roll with the punches and having the mindset of being down, but not out is the key. Keeping on keeping on is one way to put it, but I prefer the mariner's analogy of weathering a storm. Storms are not a permanent thing (unless you live on one of the gas giants in the outer solar system) and will always pass. The pain of loosing a loved one never entirely goes away, but the sing does fade.

HAH! I got the forum code MOSTLY working I think. I was able to add a new thread in Programming about the upgrade and I'll keep using that.
P.S. If you don't have access to the forum... this is expected for people I don't know. :p

Like the first time I used a mouse to click on a link to add a blog entry, I have now successfully reprogrammed the Blog module to allow me to select (with a select box) the specific blog entry I would like to edit. Instead of having to query the database for the index of the blog entry I wanted to edit, and stuff that inside the URL, I can now point and click my mistakes away. :)
